Drinking chocolate has a long and worldly past. Native to Central and South America, the word “chocolate” come from the ancient Aztecan culture where the beans were so revered they were given as gifts and used in religious services. The beans made their voyage to Europe on Columbus’ fourth trip home in 1502. It wasn’t long until the New World delicacy became an integral part of European life and the fashionable drink of nobility. In the late 17th century, chocolate houses had proliferated throughout London, and the coffeehouse-like establishments became the social and political center of the city.

Torani European Drinking Chocolate is made with Schokinag chocolate. Schokinag, Europe’s premier chocolatier imports the finest beans, mostly from West Africa that are roasted and blended for extraordinary quality, flavor and consistency. The beans are then carefully processed into pure unsweetened chocolate and cocoa butter to produce Torani European Drinking Chocolate. The collaboration between Torani and Schokinag is exciting.
